A pair of fine quality French Louis XVI style tripod porcelain & bronze urn vases (or garnitures) by G & Cie, Paris, France, circa 1930. The ovoid form Parisian works featuring rich partial gilt over lavender-greyish ground, polychome decorated with beautiful ribbons & floral garland swags, pendant medallions adorned with pale pink & white flowers, mounted on a gilt bronze base, rising on three gilt leg supports adorned with figural lion masks, ending in hoof feet, over a conforming base, impressed mark of interlocking G & C; signed in green 285 G & Cie to verso. Provenance: Acquired from the estate of a Houston, Texas socialite who enjoyed a long career in modeling, both nationally & internationally. She loved & studied interior design & fashion, & was known for her pristine style & collection.
