Antique 19th C Pottery Olive Jar, Jug, Vase, Pitcher ja 9262005 Chunky rustic timeworn pottery olive jar, jug from the 1800s. Old terra cotta stoneware with an amazing ancient pottery patina from many years of use & enjoyment. Chunky & wide side handles. Beautiful handpainted floral decoration that has faded over time & is just lovely & very unique. Terra cotta pottery with much desirable variances in color which authenticate aging. Farm table decor. From France, Spain or Portugal...early to mid 1800s. Some refer to this pottery as Redware slip. We have left as found although may be cleaned if desired. Measures; approx. 15.5" height by 12" width (at widest point), 6.25" opening at the top. Weighing almost 12 lbs...wow!! This is without packaging, all our pottery is shipped double boxed for protection, so it will be a fairly heavy & large parcel & shipping cost will vary greatly depending on your location (west coast states, FL, or international, etc), If cost is less than quoted we would also refund any differences. Timeworn condition & patina. Lots of old nibbles & chipping around the rims & bottom. Otherwise good strong solid piece for display. There is roughness to the bottom & base at the bottom. Being hand thrown, there are some imperfections (depends on how you look at it ?) & it does lean slightly to one side, this was done before the firing process. Variations in color & patina with staining, portion of the side is a darker coloring, all part of its' charm & character & part of its' history.
