The frame has been finished to a golden brown color & then sealed with a satin clear top coat - but the stain is light enough to still see the natural grain of the red oak wood. The framed mirror itself is 1/4" extra strong mirrored glass. The frame is ready to hang with heavy duty mirror wire & d-ring clamps on the reverse. It makes for an exceptional presentation of this timeless classic. If you are concerned about hanging this large of a mirror ... no need to worry. We will send you separately a strong, simple wall hanging system - the Hangman Wall-DogTM Hanger. This system is easily installed with only a Phillips head screwdriver & it consists of an aluminum bracket that is attached to the wall by a special Wall-DogTM screw (mounting instructions included). So, no fuss about finding the centerline of your wall studs - just screw in this hanger & drape the frame's mirror wire over it & you're good to go.
