Doulton Burslem, England Corolian Ware - 1891-1902 Flow Blue "Floral" Display Vase Signed Impressed #6556 Ink Ra1645

For your consideration, I am offering this rare - english - Blue Corolian Ware - 9.25 inch tall VASE in a floral pattern featuring a nice array of flowers manufactured by the Doulton Burslem Factory, designed & signed Doulton & made in England - Reg. No. 255933 - RA1645 & shape 6556..The Corolian Ware was manufactured during 1891 & 1902... This type of ware was an invention of John Slater & because of the period of production can be found with the Doulton coronet backstamp. No doubt the name is derived from corolla as the images on these pieces are typically floral... The process involved multiple firings of blue & white transfer images which gave them depth & used to create the soft misty effect in the Corolian ware. This tapering form vase has a small fluted rim opening highlighted with gold trim... This lovely Vase measures approximately 9.25 inches (23.5cm) - The small fluted outer rim is 1 inches (2.54cm) & has a 2 inch base rim diameter (5.08cm).. Back stamp in brown states Doulton Burslem - England along with the crown & the 'intersecting D motif - was in use from 1891 - 1902...Also in brown "Corolian Ware" & Reg. No. 255933 - in blue ink RA1645 & impressed shape 6556 & Doulton.. Other impressed numbers & letters... Light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with age, Overall condition is very nice - minimal micro scratches, rub with the exception of a possibility of firing defect to the glaze ..
