Mccoy Vase/Figural Swan/Double Handle/Shawnee?/Brown Glaze Pottery/Earthenware/Collectible/Large 9.5"/Vintage 1940S

This is a vintage (perhaps 1940s) unbranded, brown-glazed, swan-handle, earthenware vase. I have not found another one of these in my research to give it a positive identification so I believe it to be a rare item. Perhaps it is a "Nelson McCoy or Shawnee" piece I don't know. It is a large vase measuring approximately 8 inches wide including the handles by 9.5 inches in height with a flared, mouth opening of 6 inches in diameter. It is an extremely, heavy vase weighing in at 6 pounds which is made of a very, thick-walled earthenware with a brown-glazed finish inside & out as well as on the bottom. It features swan-head, double handles & a bulbous bottom decorated with raised, reed leaves. A real beauty. The bottom has 3 pontil marks were it sat to dry after coming out of the kiln. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a minuscule, missing piece of glaze (not a chip) show in last photo on left, edge of bottom. This lovely is certain to be a prized addition to any pottery collection. Please be sure before purchasing as this item & all items in my shop are NOT returnable.
