1800s French Fruit Press Handcrafted Artisan Folk Art Solid Wood French Mountain Farmhouse Historical Primitive Cuisine Mid 1800s artisan handcarved folk art wooden fruit press from France. A true labor of love indeed. Masterfully handcarved & crafted from wood, the wood has such an unbelievably smooth finish with wood pegs & a metal screen at the bottom for straining fruit. The open area at the bottom would have allowed for a preserve jar to be place underneath to catch all the fruit juices. An absolutely amazing one of a kind handmade piece of French history. Timeworn to a rich dark wood finish. Possibly made from oak or chestnut. Simple & so beautiful, yet a tool to be used. The handhewn wood grain is masterful! Purchased in the South of France. Measures; 18" height, 11" length at its' widest point. Solid, heavy piece weighing 4.5 lbs. Truly historical piece of French history.
