Vintage industrial foundry punch cutter & impression mold of a rooster. Circa 1940 two-part steel punch with silhouette cutter & separate detailed impression forming die. The cutter was used to create a silhouette - in this case a chicken - which was then pressed under hydraulic pressure into the impression mold where the details would be transferred to the softer metal. The impression mold is incredibly detailed & there are intriguing details including a stamped letter "O" on the cutter. Originally used in the creation of stamped metal parts used as decorative elements for toys, trophies, industrial makers tags etc. We have several of these sets available (see our other listings), all with different roosters & chickens of various types & sizes!
