Antique Pairpoint Manufacturing Co Quadruple Silver Plate Footed Bon Basket With Gallery Edge 6619

This antique 19th century quadruple silver plate footed basket silver plate basket was made by the renowned Pairpoint Manufacturing Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The high quality basket features a gallery edge & has a beaded motif at the rim. The beaded detail is carried through to the four feet, each of which is encircled with a beaded band. The piece is finished with an arched handle which can raised & lowered. The basket is in good original condition with no dents or repairs & has not been monogrammed. As an antique item, the piece shows appropriate signs of age including minor scratching & tarnish which are mentioned for accuracy. The basket stands 3.75" to the top of the handle when it is raised & is 5" across as measured from the opposite edges of the rim. The underside is marked "PAIRPOINT MFG. CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE NEW BEDFORD MASS" along with item number "6619". The company symbol of a "P" within a diamond is also present. The piece weighs in at 8oz. This Pairpoint silver plate basket displays beautifully & is nicely sized to serve candy or nuts, or could also be used to hold jewelry, change or business cards on a table or desk.
