I search one of 12 local beaches each day, after the tide goes out (low tide) with my long dog Sanibelle. in summer I dry my driftwood in the sun, & in winter I dry it by my pellet stove. My driftwood takes anywhere from 2-5 days to thoroughly dry after being out at sea for many, many years. My driftwood is found in the sand & does not come from marshy areas that can cause rot & bugs.
