ITEM DESCRIPTION: Spectacular antique lady's vest from the Lviv region of western Ukraine. Authentic folk art at its best with cheerful flowers & a mix of colors & fabrics. The last photo shows a woman wearing this type of vest together with a regional outfit from the area. One of the nicest examples I have seen & a wonderful addition to any collection! Measurements are approximate & taken with article(s) laying flat: Across shoulders: 13" Across front: 17.6" between underarms Length: 26" down middle of back CONDITION: Good condition with several mended holes (some better than others) & general wear. Heavier wear around collar where the blue silk fabric is worn down. Not in perfect shape, but still very presentable & all of the damages & repairs are in keeping with its folksy style. A note regarding condition: All of the costumes & textiles that I sell are vintage & have typically seen decades of use resulting in expected wear & tear that add to the history & authenticity of each piece. in case of above-average wear, I will mention any significant damages & heavy signs of use. Depending on the age, materials, & condition, I often hand-wash more durable, colorfast cotton & linen textiles, but embellished garments, heavier wool pieces or items made from silk or fine fabrics are sold in the original, unwashed condition. Small holes or stains, missing sequins/beads, worn trim, & other marks related to standard wear are common & do not detract from the value of most pieces.
