Woman's Colonial Shortgown

This Colonial era shortgown is one of the finishing touches to your colonial outfit. A necessity for any reanactor, historical interpreter or for your next trip to Colonial Williamsburg. The shortgown is a very typical piece of the wardrobe for a working class woman in the colonial era. The jacket is held together in the front by an apron & straight pins. It is pleated in the back to the waist line for a somewhat fitted look. It is meant to be somewhat loose fitted to allow for a little more movement while doing cooking, laundry & other chores.
