The Korean War is viewed through more of a satirical lens in the pages of Ziff-Davis's G.I.JOE series than the war normally was in comics. The violence is portrayed in an almost slapstick fashion.Sergeants are ogres, officers are incompetent, women are seductresses and the enemy is easily dispatched caricatures. JOE by Ziff-Davis has an interesting publishing history numerically. The first five issues were numbered #10-14 and were published between February to October of 1951.
