This extensive survey reports on the investigations made by the Marconi Company on behalf of the Government of Singapore "for a Radar Survey of the Island" (part 1). Marked on the cover "Singapore "Confidential". Ministry of the the Interior and Defence", the report investigates the viability of various sites, the feasibility of radar in relation to air surveillance and coast defence, the effectiveness of existing radar facilities at Bukit Gombat, and other matters. Information for the preparation of the report was partly furnished by the Government of Singapore, but also by the Company from its own investigations. The photographs and maps that accompany the report provide an important record of Singapore at this time.
