8vo (22 x 17,5 cm), publisher's printed cardboards. First edition, inscribed by the author. Poems by Tadeusz Peiper. 3 full-page reproductions of drawings by Juan Gris. From the Cubist fundamentals developed by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, Juan Gris succeeded in constructing his own personal approach. During the 1920s, he produced a series of still lifes accompanied by everyday objects: bottles, glasses, books and musical instruments. The drawings that illustrate "Zywe linje" were made by the artist in September 1924. They show his environment, portraits and still lifes, as a synthesis, in contrast to the experiments of the Dadaists and abstract painters. Association copy, inscribed by Tadeusz Peiper to the Polish poet Edward Kozikowski. A member of the Czartak literary group alongside Emil Zegadlowicz, Edward Kozikowski is the author of several collections of poems, including "Koniec Hortensji Europy" published in 1924. Provenance : Edward Kozikowski. Literature: Paloma Esteban Leal, Juan Gris. Paintings and Drawings 1910-1927, Museo Nacional Reina Sofía, 2005, p.138-139; Germain Viatte, Présences Polonaises, Éditions du Centre Georges Pompidou, 1983, p.251.
