Rifilata a pochi millimetri oltre il bordolinea, sempre presente. Esemplare in buono stato di conservazione dalla in - chiostratura ancora vivida; traccia di piegatura orizzontale da asciugatura; alcuni restauri integrativi ai quattro angoli e al centro del bordo laterale destro, nonché uno piccolissimo verso il fondo, sempre dello stesso bordo; qualche altro piccolo intervento di chiusura, in particolare uno strappo al centro del bordo superiore. STRAUSS 34 - ehellip;Il cielo qui è completamente senza nuvole. Anche gli alberi offrono un contrasto: la sterilità della pianta sulla destra rispetto a quella carica di frutti sulla sinistra. Von Eye identificò questersquo;ultimo come un albero di arance e ne dedusse che il soggetto di questa silografia fosse italiano. Tuttavia, rimane non identificato fino ad oggiehellip; Il titolo tradizionale di questa silografia è fuorviante, il Cavaliere, non è affatto un cavaliere. Non indossa unersquo;armatura, ma un collare principesco di ermellino e altri ornamenti, mentre il suo cavallo è decorato con piume e una raffinata gualdrappa. La scena è stata interpretata come Saul in cammino verso Damasco o Davide in fuga da Saul, ma in realtà offre poche informazioni a sostegno di tali interpretazioni bibliche.
