Sawada Sõzan (or Seiichirõ) was a famous Japanese potter and graphic designer who developed works full of originality. He belonged to a well-known group of Kyoto potters (including Kiyomizu Rokubei) who distinguished themselves through very fashionable and high-quality work. He went to the US in 1904 to study art at Columbia University and founded the Sawada Zuancho design studio when he returned to Japan. Rare, we have found only one library copy in OCLC, at Japan's National Diet Library.
