Full brown polished calf with gilt spine titles and ownership name to front board; 8vo; 101pp; illustrated with 9 tipped-in color collotype photos; printed in an edition of 150 copies (50 deluxe in leather and 100 in wraps). Printed and bound by The Sign of the Stone Book in Hartford, CT by the Case, Lockwood and Brainard Company. Based on a French manuscript written about 1904 by Dr.Joseph Schmitt and published in Paris. Translated into English language by Eugene Wilson. Fishing for salmon on the River Jupiter plus numerous other streams on the island. "This was a 'Christmas book' that Mr. Wilson sent to his fishing friends for the holiday season of 1940. The whole is intended as a souvenir for those of us who love the Island , and who, through the long winter, dream of returning there, like the salmon, with each succeeding spring." (Wood) This copy in VG condition with spine rebacked with fresh title; lightly rubbed cover edges; internally clean with all photos bright. Many copies included a folding map in pocket on rear pastedown, lacking here. This was the author's own copy with his name stamped in gilt on front panel and may result in the lack of map. One of only a handful of Anticosti salmon angling titles and quite scarce in this edition. Wetzel p208; Bruns W132; Wood #119
