Viii pp + 498 pages to parts 1 + 2 and part 3 Truth and Innocency Defended against Falshood (sic) and Envy And the Martyrs Of Jesus and Sufferers For His Sake Vindicated (an Answer to Cotton Mather (a Priest of Boston) on his Calumnies, etc, etc. 212 pages with a 12 page indeces and a publishers advert leaf at the rear, 3 separate title pages to the 2 works, the last two title pages are dated 1702, but were always going to be published together, so 1703 as on main title. Fully collated as complete, contemporary ink inscription on FFEP "John Stanley his book 1775", full calf hinges showing stringing to front board, old gilt panel mottled calf rubbed and worn, contents very good on hand made paper, some damp staining to bottom of some pages at the spine and edges slightly affecting the text in a few areas, but sporadic and not heavy stains. Paper and print very clean and fresh. Octavo. 1703. NOTE* A comprehensive authoritative account of the dastardly deeds of Christian v Christian, namely the killing and persecution of the New England Quakers, (Society of Friends), 1st thus with the 3 part newly printed for this 1703 edition and the first parts by Bishop published separately in 1661-1667, newly published here.
