About Very Good covers surrounding Very Good pages. Solid binding and complete pages. The book itself has the usual soiling to the boards as these books were literally read-to-death. Typical age-toning to the paper but not bad all things considered. Half-title cut at the bottom about 1/4", which appears to be a manufacturing short-coming. Very Good+ Boards in Near Fine Text-block, i.e. Pages. A bit better condition than its predecessor. Light soling to the boards and fairly clean but slightly age-toned text-block. Anne of Green Gables by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery is one of the earliest novels in English which told a story through the point of view of a pre-adolescent girl. Certainly other stories appeared with girls but very few where the girl was the protagonist. It was an instant sensation when first published in 1908. There was an Antiques Roadshow appraisal of a near-perfect first printing copy the owner found at a flee market. The copy was appraised for $12,000 to $18,000. NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers. ALSO: The pictures are of the actual item(s) for sale. (The pictures are NOT stock photos.) Ships in priority mail medium box. International shipping also available.
