8vo. 3 pp. Mourning paper. With envelope. To her grandson, Prince Christian Victor of Schleswig-Holstein (1867-1900), written on her personal VRI notepaper of the Grand Hotel de Cimiez, Nice, with the original autograph envelope addressed to the Prince at the Kings Royal Rifles, Dover. (The 25c stamp damaged). The Queen addresses the Prince as "Dear Christle", his family name, and sends him birthday wishes while she was on holiday, signing herself "Ever your devoted Grandmama VRI". Family letters are uncommon.
