Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie Christie's scarcest title, third book, and second appearance of the legendary Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot. *Scarce second edition* (really a second printing as it was published in the same month and year as the first printing, using the same exact text). OVERALL CONDITION: GOOD to VERY GOOD- Published by Bodley Head in 1923 in London. First edition, second printing as indicated by the "second edition" statement on the copyright page along with a 1923 publication year. In its original orange decorated cloth. Octavo. Collated and complete including half-title, blanks and publisher ads. "The Murder on the Links" features Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings. The story revolves around the murder of Paul Renauld, a wealthy man found stabbed on a golf course in France. Poirot and Hastings travel to France to investigate, only to discover a second body, leading to a complex case involving blackmail, love letters, and a rival detective. The book is in GOOD to VERY GOOD- antique condition - colorful cloth with some light dust soiling. Sun-darkened spine with a crack to foot of spine. Corners a little bumped. Rubbing to extremities and spine. A few small stains and bumps. Darkened endpapers and lightly toned pages. Generally a clean text block. Signs of handing - some creases, bent corners, occasional spots of smudging (mostly marginal), and some marginal chipping/small tears on several leaves. A few faded stray marginal marks and one page with a blue ink doodle (see picture). Overall, a GOOD or a bit better vintage copy of Agatha Christie's scarcest UK title.
