Silografia originale impressa su carta vergellata, priva di filigrana e con testo latino al verso per lersquo;edizione del 1511. Monogramma in basso al centro del bordo inferiore. Quarto stato su cinque (Meder 176 IV/V). Rifilata al bordolinea, sempre presente. Esemplare in discreto stato conservativo, inchiostratura ancora abbastanza vivida. Lungo tutto il bordo destro per la larghezza di circa 1 cm, più esteso alla parte inferiore, abilissimo restauro integrativo con ridisegno del grafismo mancante; ampia crepa richiusa alla parte superiore sinistra con picco - lissima integrazione; lievi tracce di collatura al verso con abrasioni, alcune crepe rinforzate. STRAUSS 42 - Lersquo;illuminazione è incoerente: lersquo;imperatore in primo piano è illuminato da sinistra in contrasto con il resto della scena. I ventiquattro anziani endash; esattamente venti - quattro endash; indossano corone. Le quattro elsquo;bestieersquo; viventi sono il toro, il leone, lersquo;aquila e lersquo;an - gelo, simboli rispettivamente dei santi Luca, Marco, Giovanni e Matteo. Ognuno di loro è coperto da una moltitudine di occhi. Lersquo;Agnello è in piedi sullersquo;arcobaleno, che simboleggia il trono di Dio. San Giovanni è inginocchiato in primo piano. Skilfully made-up paper loss and redrawn on the entire right edge with of about 1 cm more extended on the lower part; wide crack repaired on left upper corner with a tiny made-up paper loss; slight remnants of former mounting eldquo;on versoerdquo; with abrasions, some cracks on the paper reinforced eldquo;on versoerdquo; STRAUSS 42 - The lighting is in- consistent: the emperor in the foreground is lighted from the left in contrast to the rest of the scene. The twenty-four elders-exactly twentyfour are pictured-wear crowns. The four living elsquo;beastsersquo;; are the bull, the lion, the eagle, and an Angel, symbolic of St. Luke, Mark, John, and Matthew, respectively. Each of them is covered with a multitude of eyes. The Lamb is standing on the rainbow, which denotes the throne of God. St. John is kneeling in the foreground.
