Slim Folio, (1) + pp11 complete with the two lithographed plates by C. Hullmandel. Soft cover housed in portfolio folder. The newer Folio folder bound in brown cloth with leather title to front cover and inside flaps and ribbon ties in very good condition with the odd bump to edges and a little rubbing. The card cover in good condition with some marking, staining and rubbing to edges, there is also the name "Lady Caroline Neville" written to top right corner. Inside pages and plates in very good condition for their age with the odd mark and a little toning. Mark Milbank JP DL (2 May 1795 - 21 October 1881) was an English landowner and Whig politician. Very little is known of him except this exert "We know nothing of the writer of the undernoted brochure, which he appears to have printed at his own expense as an open letter, except that he resided at Heron Court, Ringwood, Hants; he seems to have reported to Mr. Milbank at intervals the arrival of rare birds at Heron Court, and to have been well read in the ornithological works of his day." (Mullens & Swann, A Bibliography of British Ornithology. p.141). A very scarce item.
