Stephen King The Bachman Books. New York: New American Library, 1985 Book Club Edition, signed and inscribed by Stephen King as both Richard Bachman and parenthetically as Stephen King. Quarter bound black cloth with black boards and gilt to spine. Signed on the front free end paper with inscription imploring Darnell Mechs to have a great summer. Though not completely unheard of, finding a hardback of this title signed and inscribed is certainly getting a bit more difficult to source and because it contains the now out of print short novel, Rage , there doesn t figure to be any new copies of it coming to market. This is a rather nice example of this omnibus printing with the book being in VG+ condition with the typical backstrap separation so common on these thick volumes. The corners are sharp, the interior is super clean, the spine ends are pushed ever so slightly, but overall a fresh and sharp copy. The dust jacket is a VG example, with a scuff to the rear panel, some rubbing, indentation and edge wear especially near the spine crown. No price clipping, no fading really to speak of and it is now protected in an archival mylar sleeve. Overall a super sharp signed copy of this elusive title which is getting scarcer all the time, especially so signed as RB & SK and inscribed. Included is a letter of authenticity from previous seller.
