In what appears to be contemporary notations on the first free endpaper the previous owner gives a synopsis of the volume in Italian around the armorial bookplate that is pasted to the first free endpaper. Woodcuts adorn the beginning of each chapter. As in most early printing, the strength of the type imprint and woodcuts are inconsistent as they were pulled by hand, but easily read for anyone well-versed in Italian. Full title, roughly translated: "Rosary of the Glorious Virgin Mary. Again Reprinted: With New & Beautiful Figures Adorned" The first "Rosary Book" printed in Italian. Approved for printing (first edition) 5 April 1521, this edition is from the 1583 printing.
