First editions. The complete run of 23 issues of Tambimuttu's renowned and influential irregular periodical of verse and criticism, plus the full-run (four issues) of its successor 'Poetry London-New York' (1956-1960), and also the short-lived final gasp 'Poetry London / Apple Magazine' (two issues only, appearing in 1979 and 1982), and also the limited casebound issue of 'Poetry London / Apple Magazine', signed by both Tambimuttu and Graham Sutherland (this being #84 of 150 copies). First editions. 4to. All in the original stapled card wrappers, bar issue #10 which was issued in a cloth binding and housed in a dust wrapper. The wrappers featuring artwork submitted by Hector Whistler, Lucian Freud, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland, Gerald Wilde, Fahr-El-Nissa Zeid, Alexander Calder, John Piper and others. Some of the staples rusted, with some spotting to the wrappers of the inaugural issue, and some quite light toning and soiling to the wrappers of some subsequent issues. Some light and occasional fox spotting. A tiny sliver of loss to the lower edge of the front wrapper of issue #17. The wrapper of issue #16 detached but present. A very good set of this cornerstone of 1940s verse.
