First edition of the twelfth novel of Ian Fleming's James Bond series. Octavo, original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, green patterned endpapers. With a black-and-white photograph of Roger Moore as James Bound tipped in (not adhered) which is inscribed by him, "To Dorothy with love Roger Moore." Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Jacket design by Richard Chopping. The photograph is in fine condition. Housed in a custom half morocco clamshell box by the Harcourt Bindery. "Ian Fleming was too ill to complete this last Bond novel before his death, so novelist Kingsley Amis was hired to complete and revise it (Black, 75).â It was made into the 1975 film starring Roger Moore as Bond, with an all-star cast which included Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland, Maud Adams and Hervé Villachaize.
