Uncorrected proof copy in proof jacket, one of 350 copies produced in early 1966 ahead of publication on 23 June. This copy has the publisher's pencilled notes on the prelims and jacket front flap marking typographical changes still to be made. The proof "features some significant differences within the preliminaries leaves [and] some significant textual differences" (Gilbert, p. 442). The last instalment in the original James Bond series was issued posthumously after Fleming's death in 1964. Gilbert A14a, pp. 442-3. Octavo. Original green wrappers, lettered in black and patterned with publisher's motif in white. With dust jacket. Wrappers virtually fresh, a couple of spots to contents; slight creasing to bright, unclipped jacket: a fine copy in near-fine jacket.
