Whoever looks at Atlan's works immediately recognises the line, the colour range and the vigour, which are like elements of the same grammar deployed and developed throughout his spectacular career. However, the artist did not come to painting straight away, turning first to philosophy, which he studied and taught, and then to poetry influenced by surrealism, before starting to paint. From the edition limited to 1,000 copies. One of the first 50 copies with an original signed drawing. Association copy, inscribed by Jean-Michel Atlan to the French writer and Resistance fighter Louis Parrot: "à Louis Parrot / en témoignage de ma / fidèle admiration et / de ma profonde sympathie / pour l'oeuvre et pour / l'homme / JM Atlan / 3.1.45", with a handwritten note at the colophon page: "cet exemplaire / appartient / à / Louis / Parrot". This copy is enhanced with 5 original signed drawings and various handwritten notes by Jean-Michel Atlan. Inserted loose are the following: the publication prospectus, the subscription form and the invitation to the book signing at the gallery de l'Arc-en-ciel in Paris.
