Extremely rare complete 4-volume set Pre-DA of the Roman breviary, bound in black leather with gold lettering on the spine. Complete. Beautiful condition. Very nice. Collectors item: Previously owned by Missionary and Martyr Father Van Vlerken, captured by the Mongolians in Ordos in 1928. The Mongolians demanded ransom of 500 dollars back in 1928. Father Van Vlerken taught sociology and chinese at the University of Louvain/Leuven, Belgium. He was professor at St. Jacques of San Cheng Kong in 1913. Signed by Martyr Father Van Vlerken!
