1890 Two early panoramic views of London on one single sheet, the top showing a view of London in 1616 and the bottom in 1890. The top view is based on Claes Jansz Visschers very rare woodcut panorama which was originally issed in 1625 on four sheets. The view is taken from the south bank of the Thames, with the old St Pauls Cathedral and London Bridge dominating the skyline and extenden from Garden Stairs in the west to St Olafs in the east. Title banner and coats of arms in the sky, numerous large ships in the Pool of London, and smaller water craft on the rest of the Thames.The lower view by Henry William Brewer showing the city in 1890 with St Pauls Cathedral, Waterloo Bridge, Shot Tower, Blackfriars Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Borough Market, St Saviours Church, London Bridge, St Olaves Church, Guys Hospital, London Bridge Station, St Katherines Docks, Tower Bridge, Custom House, Billingsgate, Monument, Fishgmongers Hall, Royal Exchange, Bow Church, Temple and Somerset House.Overalll size approx 110cm x 42cm. Condition is generally fine withg several vertical folds, as issued.
