FIRST EDITION 1753, this work is anonymous since, although it is usually referred to as 'Stafford', it appears he wrote only the introductory section. Small 4to, 230 x 180 mm, 9 x 7 inches, folding engraved plate of The Great Cyder Press, 2 small woodcut illustrations in the text, tailpieces, pages: v, [3], 1-64, rebound in modern full calf, gilt lettered green label to spine, gilt decoration between raised bands to spine, gilt decoration to corners of covers with gilt rules to edges, new brown endpapers, 2 original endpapers at front but none at rear. Occasional pale age-browning and small spot to margins, originally a pamphlet with stab holes occasionally showing in inner margins. A very good attractive copy.
