Covers detached and worn, some plates with wear and loss to margins, scattered foxing throughout. A fine visual record of Sintra, near Lisbon. A long-time royal sanctuary, the area's forested terrain is studded with pastel-coloured villas and palaces. The Moorish- and Manueline-style Sintra National Palace is distinguished by dramatic twin chimneys and elaborate tilework.
