Large square 8v. pp. vii, 8 - 16; 5 irregularly sized engravings [maximum 390 x 220 mm.], folded. Stitched, as issued. The five engravings, if joined together would make a complete numbered key to the painting, each person identified in the text. Depicting the scene on the 6th day of the trial of Queen Caroline where George IV attempted to prove adultery so that he could divorce his wife. Three hundred figures are portrayed with 189 portraits, each identified using the key printed here. The large painting, over 7 ft 6 inches high and 13 ft 8 inches wide was exhibited at Cauty's Great Rooms, Schomberg House, Pall Mall in 1823. Following a gift by the Art Fund, it is now in the National Portrait Gallery.
