FIRST EDITION 1833, 2 volumes, complete set. 8vo, approximately 220 x 135 mm, 8½ x 5½ inches, 2 engraved maps by Arrowsmith: 1 large folding and 1 full page, 13 lithograph plates including 4 hand coloured bird plates, list of illustrations in each volume, pages: VOLUME 1, [iii], iv-lxxx, 1-219; VOLUME 2, [iii], iv-v, [1], [1]-271, without half-titles, bound in full calf by Hayday binders, their name at foot of the pastedowns, contrasting maroon and green gilt lettered labels, gilt date at foot of spines, gilt decoration to spines, gilt rules to edges of covers, all edges gilt. Strip of pale fading to top of both lower covers, some light scratches and rubbing, slight evidence of removal of bookplates from first pastedowns, Volume 1: 3 tiny black spots to binding, 2 small shallow indentations to lower cover, a little pale foxing to title page; Volume 2: tip of lower corner of lower cover bumped.
