MacArthur: His Rendezvous with History, covers the years 1941 to 1951 in the legendary career of General Douglas MacArthur, who was Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in the South Pacific and accepted Japan's surrender. The author, Major General Courtney Whitney, received a law degree from George Washington University, after which he went into private practice in Manila. He joined MacArthur's WWII staff, directing MacArthur's guerrilla army in the Philippines, and served as a senior official during the occupation of Japan. Condition info: The book is in NEAR FINE vintage condition. Colorful boards, firm hinges and joints, minimal rubbing. Just some dust jacket paper transferring along bottom of spine and some faint, partially erased pencil writing on FFEP. Pages are clean and unmarked.
