The book and silkscreen are housed in a black cloth clamshell box with leather title label to the spine, gilt titles and a striking Steadman image within the inner cover. . 13 x 19.5 cm maroon cloth backed pictorial paper covered boards with leather titles label to the spine and gilt tiles. Maroon endpapers [xii] 51[1]pp. This copy is one of 6 copies that Hunter Thompson stabbed with a small knife during the signing process. The copy includes a signed silkscreen image of The Brain of Hunter Thompson . This silkscreen differs from all others in this edition as it has a splash of red going across the upper portion of the image, which no other silkscreen has. Further, the copy belonged to longtime collaborator Joe Petro III and contains a note within the book, A/P Stabbed Copy 1 of 6 copies. J. Petro III Copy. There is another publisher s note laid in stating, This is one of six copies of Fire in the Nuts that Hunter S. Thompson stabbed with his coke knife in a fit of rage while signing the edition during the early morning hours of October 7, 2004 at Owl Farm, Woody Creek, Colorado. And finally, this copy also bears the Library of Hunter S. Thomson book seal. . The publication is a short story, previously unpublished, about a struggling writer living in Greenwich Village, written when Thomson himself was living in NYC as a struggling writer.
