Bifolio. 10 x 7 ¾ inches. Creased at folds, foxed with minor separations at folds. In good condition. Concerns the sale of "all the lands on the said Island which the said Elizabeth C. Murray inherited from the estate of her father John Mackie dec'd". The 500-acre parcel was sold by Elizabeth C. Murray for $10,000 to Thomas C. Ferebee. Signed by Elizabeth C. Murray, witnessed and signed by George Thomas Wallace (1812-1899) and his son, Capt. John Gallaudet Wallace (1840-1910), Confederate veteran, commander of The Blanchard Grays, Co. C, 61st Va. Reg. Docketing to last page signed and attested by I. M. Baxter, dated March 2, 1861, Currituck, County. Registered and signed on the same page by John H. Halstead. Elizabeth was born c. 1796.
