Collection of twelve vintage French color lobby cards from the 1975 film. The first Monty Python feature film, the directorial debut of Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, and a cult classic from the start. A butchered retelling of King Arthur and his Knights, who happen to be searching for the Holy Grail. The Knights of the Round Table set off on foot, their henchmen making hoof-like sounds with coconut shells. Throughout the search for the Grail, the Knights travel through foggy England, including a plague-ridden community ("bring out your dead"), and a wedding where the groom continually attempts to burst into song. The Knights are nearly thwarted by the dreaded, tree-shaped "Knights Who Say Ni!" where an enemy warrior is shorn of his arms and legs in the thick of battle, in an honestly gory scene. Basis for Eric Idle's 2005 Tony Award-winning music, "Spamalot." Voted No. 2 Best Comedy (after "Airplane!") in the "Best in Film: The Greatest Movies of Our Time" television special (ABC, 2011). Shot on location in Scotland, particularly around Doune Castle, Glen Coe, and the privately owned Castle Stalker. 9 x 11.25 inches. Near Fine.
