Stated First Printing. Rare hardcover first edition. You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. The spine ends are in solid shape, one little crinkle at the top one. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing, one teeny tiny dent at the front bottom edge. The cover corners are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The top and bottom page edges are perfectly clean. The middle one is deckled or rough-cut. They did a very good job. There appears to be some light tanning on parts of the deckled middle page edge. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in very good condition. The pages are very clean. I didn't see any soiling or stains on any of them. However, a small number of pages have a little sliver of an amber spot peeking over their middle edge. There are three photographs (one is the frontispiece) on semi-glossy paper. While these pages themselves don't have any spotting or foxing, the text pages facing them have just a little bit of that light amber spotting off parts of their outer edges. Each of the three photographs have a very thin line of blue coloring just off their top edge. I'm fairly certain this would be the case with the few other hardcovers. There isn't any conspicuous creasing on any of the pages, no turned-down corner creases, no placeholder creases. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It has some light soiling, some light edge wear. There is a tiny spot of rubbing below the front top corner. There aren't any losses at the top and bottom corners of the middle edges. The blue of the spine, as you can see, is lighter than that of the front. The flaps are in excellent condition, very clean, no tears, no creases. The jacket is NOT priced-clipped, not clipped at all. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. Separately inside the book is a red and white Random House insert (in very good shape) which reads 'Review copy from Random House and states that the 'review should appear before publication date' and also that 'Random House would appreciate two copies of your review.' At the center of the insert the Title, Author, Price, and Publication Date (9-15-66) is typed. 'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever is a musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Burton Lane. It is based loosely on Berkeley Square, written in 1926 by John L. Balderston. It concerns a woman who has ESP and has been reincarnated. The musical received three Tony Award nominations. The Broadway production was directed by Robert Lewis, choreographed by Herbert Ross, and starred Barbara Harris as Daisy Gamble/Melinda, John Cullum as Dr. Mark Bruckner, Clifford David as Edward Moncrief, Titos Vandis as Themistocles Kriakos, and William Daniels (Harris's co-star in A Thousand Clowns) as Warren Smith. A 1970 film adaptation directed by Vincente Minnelli starred Barbra Streisand, Yves Montand, Bob Newhart and Jack Nicholson.
