Very Good, overall. Occasional scuffs to the book block. Minor rubbing to the jacket. Slight tilt to the spine. No edition remarks; presumed first and only edition. Signed by Tane silversmith Nino Bauti to Iris Apfel on the blank facing the title page. 256 pages. 10" x 14". Founded in Juarez, Mexico in 1942, the prestigious Tane silversmith brand has enthralled the likes of Jackie Kennedy, Zsa Za Gabor, Robert Redford, Brigitte Bardot, Oscar de la Renta, and John Wayne. The artisanal craftsmanship nods to the country s rich history of metallurgy while also showing the flexibility (like their malleable metals) to evolve. This exquisite book is a celebration of the company s history, showcasing their work from the 1960s into the early 2000s. The range spans stunning objets d art, like remarkably detailed bird sculptures, to cutlery, vessels too beautiful to be functional, and, of course, jewelry. What makes this particular copy of an already scarce book exceptional, is that it is signed by Tane silversmith Nino Bauti to Iris Apfel, from whose personal collection it was acquired. Iris Apfel (1921 2024) was a fashion icon and a renowned designer and textile expert. The inscription reads, "To my great inspiration and dear, dear friend Iris," with a postscript, "Working with you is a pleasure." A heartfelt dedication from a friend, colleague, and collaborator. .
