The author, wife of the mountaineer Eric Shipton, describes her travels in the area of Kashgar in the Chinese province of Sinkiang during the years 1946-8. The book appeared in a regular edition published by Hodder and Stoughton, and in this numbered de luxe edition for the "Editions De Luxe Limited" and "The Collector s Book Club".
