[British topography] LEATHER-BOUND EARLY EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.[17] 76 [1]. Contemporary brown full calf, title stained to upper board. With a red, gilt-lettered label and gilt bands to recently re-backed spine. Some toning and marking throughout but still largely clean. Spotting to endpapers and front/rear pages. Sparse, light pencilled notes throughout. Small inked inscription to a preliminary, ex libris blindstamp to front flyleaf (ownership of Levina Blythe Jones), armorial bookplate of Teichman Derville (1876-1963) to front pastedown. Two cut-outs of Romney Marsh seals pasted to front flyleaf with owner's inked notes surrounding them. Original boards gently toned, marked, and rubbed. Spine fine but for some mild edgewear. Very good. Mayor M. Teichman Derville's research copy which he used during the writing of his own Romney Marsh text: 'The Level and the Liberty of Romney-Marsh in the County of Kent: An Enquiry into the Origin, History, and Present State of the two Reputed Corporations known as The Lords, Bailiff and Jurats of Romney Marsh (The Level of Romney Marsh) and The Bailiff, Jurats and Commonalty of Romney Marsh (The Liberty of Romney Marsh)' (1936).
