Dickson C.M.G., with the warm gratitude of the author, Kandy 17/9/85" The recipient was Sir John Francis Dickson (1835-1891), of the Ceylon civil service 1859-1885, then Colonial Secretary, Straits Settlements, 1885-91. Port Dickson in Peninsula Malaysia is named after him. Very good condition. Uncommon.
