London, Richard Bentley, 1832. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Complete in two volumes, bound in one. Seemingly James' first written works, though not his first published. A collection of seven tales written in his teens, and owing some existence to The Arabian Nights. The titles are: Hadgee Ibraham and His Son, The Charitable Man and His Dog, Hadgee Ibraham and His Son (sequel), The Building of Bagdat, The Diver of Oman, Travels of Prince Acbar, The Palace of the Talisman Fairly early binding in half leather with some rubbing to the spine tips and corners, marbled boards rubbed, evidence of plate removal to the front pastedown. Neat internally, with sporadic marks, but nothing of note. Note too that this is distinct to the Sweeney Todd Penny Dreadful, and unrelated. [12710, Hyraxia Books].
