Big Girl Paintings SIGNED Copy with UNIQUE RESIN COVER Julian Schnabel

Signed and unusual copy of this already uncommon monograph from Julian Schnabel, published by Gagosian on occasion of the exhibition of his "Big Girl Paintings. This copy, unlike other copies, has a unique cover which the artist has taken one of the Big Girl images and placed it over the text on the front cover and then covered it in resin. The resin has spilled a bit onto the ensuing pages, including the page on which the artist has signed the book to Robert, which may mean Robert Rosenblum who wrote the text here. The resin spill has effect the pastedown, free endpaper, and following title page, and then skips a page before showing up again a little bit on the page after that, but after that nothing on the interior at all, and receding completely until a small splotch on the back cover. Opposite the signature, which is in gold marker, someone has written on the pastedown in regular pen "Damaged Goods Recycle." otherwise no marks and no damage besides one page with an upturned corner at the top.
