Five Volume Set - Octavos. Shaded dusky blue spines and boards with white and black lettering on each spine. Each front board has a stunning piece of full color artwork; boards and spines covered with a shiny silver foil ornament produced by Andrew Davis designs. Each rear board has a quote from the book in black lettering in a frame of the foil ornament. The five books all look new - there's a nearly unnoticable trace of rubbing at the extreme tips of one or two corners of each. Each volume has custom foiled endpapers produced by Raven Pages Design specifically for these special editions. The first volume, Red Queen is signed by the author in black felt tipped pen on a special decorative tip-in page that's been bound into the front just after the free front endpaper. Bindings are all straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. This set is also an "annotated" edition with some handwritten comments by the author printed here and there throughout the five volumes. Pagination: 396 pages, 477 pages, 518 pages, 668 pages, and 468 pages. Black silk ribbon bookmark fastened at the head of the spine of each volume. No dust jackets, as issued, however the slipcase that the set was issued with is, unfortunately, not present. All of the outside edges of the textblock of each has been covered with a duskly blue stain - upper edges are blood red (the "blood of the resistance") and the blood runs down the outside edges. Each outside edge has a crown illustration on the bottom. Book designs by Kurai Geijutsu.
