Unattributed. No Title Page [Atlas]. Bos: Cummings & Hilliard, nd (c. 1817), unpaginated. *** A very scarce, early American school atlas published in Boston c. 1815. Copperplate engravings by T. Wightman, with hand coloring. Folding world map, rest are double-page -- North America; U.S.A.; South America; Europe; Britain; Asia; Africa. Maps are in very good condition with occasional minor foxing. U.S. map has a short fold separation at bottom. There is no title page or text. *** This book comes with a clear mylar protective cover. This atlas is in my inventory and the images are of this particular item. *** Bound in marbled paper boards with brown leather spine and corners. Covers have moderate wear and soil overall with wear a bit more pronounced at corners and spine ends. The spine has moderate rubbing along joints, back joint starting at bottom (approx. 1 inch), still supple and strong. The contents are complete in a firm binding. *** 10 inches tall by 6.5 inches.
