Paris: Olympia Press, 1959. The Traveller's Companion Series, No. 66. First Edition, Fourth Printing. Two Volumes. Very Good+. Both volumes complete with some toning and slight to moderate edge wear, corner rubbing with age and handling. Light pencil impressions on the front blank page of both volumes, likely from previously erased writing; otherwise clean interiors. No tears, losses, or major defects. An attractive set that presents closer to Near Fine than Very Good. Originally published by Maurice Girodias's Olympia Press in 1955 when American and British publishers would not accept it, Lolita quickly became one of the most controversial and influential novels of the twentieth century. The fourth printing remains part of the original first edition sequence and retains the distinctive two-volume green-wrapper format used for all early Paris issues. Nabokov's masterpiece, Lolita remains one of the most influential and debated novels of the 20th century.
