Forest of the Night ~ Signed Galley Proof (plus UK & US First Editions) TOWNSEND, John Rowe Children's

Jacket Condition: Very Good ++. Galley Proof of First Edition. 31 x 22 orange cloth and marbled paper binding with gilt tiles to the spine. Inscribed and signed by the author to his wife Jill Paton Walsh, 'To Jill. / Her book. / John. A number of manuscript amendments.Together with UK & US stated first editions. The binding is very firm and square. There are a couple of small (drip?) marks on the cloth half way down on the front panel and a white paint mark to the top part of the spine. The corners are all firm, sharp and square and there is no sign of shelf wear. Internally, the pages are clean apart from inscription and amendments. Together with British and US First Editions from the library of JRT & JPW both in at least very good++condition, the UK edition having a clear dust jacket cover that is adhered to the along the edges of the pastedowns and the US edition having creases at the top of the spine and a couple of tiny closed tears along the top edge. A scarce opportunity to acquire a galley proof along with the first editions.
